Riviera Revolution Ride 4/17/2010

Yesterday, on Saturday the 17th of April, we had a great turnout for our Riviera Revolution Ride.  It certainly seemed as though all attendees had a great time!  The weather was absolutely fantastic and one could say that Sonoma County delivered on it's promise as a cycling haven.

I would have to say that almost everything about yesterday was perfect. The ride was nearly perfect.  Yeah, there were some cramps, some tired legs and a couple of flats… but really, nearly perfect.

Of course the lunch at Riviera was as close to perfection as possible.  Rita catered to our calorically deprived needs while Luca prepared some incredibly delicious food.  They treat us very well.

Like I said, this was very close to a perfect day.  There was at least one thing that could have made it better. I could have recognized the efforts of a couple of our founding members.  Read on.

I will preface this by saying that one of the great things about our ride yesterday was seeing how our numbers have grown, that we nearly filled the restaurant, that we were all having fun and that we were really growing into a great community.  We ARE growing into a great community and that is in large part because of the efforts of our own Jon and Jo Ann Erickson.  Jon and Jo Ann do a ton of work to help us out, keep us informed, make maps and route sheets and so much more.  Can one retroactively raise ones glass to make a toast expressing appreciation? Jon, Jo Ann.. Thank you.  I really do appreciate all your efforts.  Let's collectively send some more good thoughts to Jo Ann to see if we can speed her recovery so she can join us soon!  Jon and Jo Ann, thank you!

For those of us who were there, it was a great ride, great food and it was just a great day!  Thanks to all who came!  And to all who participate in growing our community, I really appreciate it.  Thank you.
